Ginger - Garlic Chicken

Ingredients:

1. Chicken – 600 grams (cut into small pieces)
2. Cornflour – 3 tspn
3. Vegetable Oil – 1/4 cup
4. Onion – 1 Large (sliced finely)
5. Ginger – 2 Tbsp (grated)
6. Garlic – 10 cloves (finely chopped)
7. Soya Sauce – 2 tspn
8. Water – 1/2 cup
9. Vinegar – 1 tbsp
10.Tomato – 1/4 cup (puree)
11.Salt to taste
12.Black pepper powder – 1/4 tspn

Preparation:

1. Wash chicken pieces properly.
2. Put the chicken pieces and cornflour into a paper or plastic bag and shake well to coat chicken well with the cornflour. Remove and dust off the excess flour and keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a deep fry pan.
4. Add chicken pieces first over high heat then lower the heat and fry till it turns golden. Keep the fried chicken aside.
5. In the remaining oil, add sliced onion, ginger and garlic and stir fry till onion is transparent.
6. Add chicken to it , mix well and then add 2 tspn soya sauce, 1/4 cup tomato puree, 1 tspn vinegar, 1 tspn cornflour, 1/4 tspn black pepper powder, half cup water and salt to it.
7. Stir properly and fry till the sauce thickens a bit.
8. Serve hot with naan or rice.
