Kadai Paneer

Ingredients:

1. Paneer (cottage cheese) – 500gms (cut into medium pieces).
2. Refined Oil – 3 tbsp.
3. Bay leaf – 2.
4. Cloves – 2.
5. Cinnamon – 2 inch piece.
6. Dried red chilli – 2.
7. Coriander seeds crushed – 2 tbsp.
8. Onion sliced – 1 medium.
9. Ginger paste – 2 tspn.
10.Garlic paste – 2 tspn.
11.Coriander powder – 1 tspn.
12.Red chilli powder – 1 tspn.
13.Tomato chopped – 5-6 medium.
14.Salt to taste.

Preparation:

1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, red chillies and half of the crushed coriander seeds. Sauté for half a minute. Add onion and sauté for a while. Add ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté for a while longer.
2. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder and tomatoes. Cook over high heat till the oil separates. Add paneer and salt, stir properly and then add half a cup of water.
3. Cook covered over low heat for five minutes. Serve hot, garnished with the remaining crushed coriander seeds.
