Alu – Patta Gobi (Cabbage and potato curry)

Ali - Patta Gobi

Ingredients:

1. Cabbage (small, chopped finely) – 1.
2. Potato (cut in cubes) – 2 (medium sized).
3. Onion (finely chopped) – 1 (medium sized).
4. Tomato (Chopped) – 1.
5. Ginger – Garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
6. Cumin Seeds – 1 tspn.
7. Turmeric Powder – 1 tspn.
8. Coriander Powder – 1 tspn.
9. Red Chill powder – 1 tspn.
10.Salt to taste.
11.Green Peas – 4 tbsp.
11.Cooking oil – 4 tbsp.

Preparation:

1. Heat oil in a wok or kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Add onions and ginger garlic paste. Fry till golden brown.
2. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and rest of the powdered spices except salt.
3. Mix well and cook till oil separates.
4. Add cubed potatoes and stir fry for few minutes. Add the chopped cabbage, green peas and salt. Mix well. Cook it covered till the vegetables are done and water evaporates.
5. Serve hot with rotis or parathas.
