Crab Curry in Mustard Sauce

Ingredients:

Medium sized Crab – 2
Chilly powder (red) – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Chopped onion – 1 cup
Green Chilies – 3 (slit lengthwise)
Tomato – one small cut into pieces
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Mustard paste – 2 tsp
Cardamom – 3
Bay leaves – 2
Salt – to taste
Oil – as required
Water – 1/2 cup

Cooking:

Step 1 – Clean the body portion of the crab in running water separately. Boil crab claws for 3-4 minutes, clean and keep together. Add water. Water should cover crabs completely. Add 1 tsp of turmeric powder and slat in the water. Mix well and keep aside for 20 minutes.

Step 2 – Take mustard oil into a pan and heat the oil. Add cardamom and bay leaves. Add chopped onion and sauté. When onion starts changing color add ginger paste. Add chilly powder, tomato  and sauté until onion turns brown. Add crab in the masala and sauté for 5 minutes. Add water, green chilies and salt. Cook for 5 minutes add mustard paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3 – Serve hot
