Breakfast Fish Cakes

Ingredients:

1. White fish (Bhetki)- cut into 2″ cubes – 1/2 kg.
2. Coal – 3-4 pcs.
3. Paan leaf – 1 pc.
4. Oil – 1 tbsp.
5. Butter – 2 tbsp.
6. Salt and Pepper as per taste.
7. Spring onions (finely chopped) – 3 tbsp.
8. Cream – 3 tbsp.
9. Potatoes (mashed) – 750 gms.
10.Chopped Parsley – 2 tbsp.
11.Grated nutmeg – 1 tbsp
12.Seasoned flour – 2 tbsp.
13.Oil for frying.

Preparation:

1. Place fish in a bowl. Heat coal over a flame until it glows.
2. Push a beetle nut leaf (paan leaf) into the centre of the bowl of the fish.
3. Using tongs, put the glowing coal onto the leaf.
4. Heat 1 Tbsp oil. Pour over the coal.
5. Cover the bowl with foil.
6. Set aside for an hour. Arrange fish on a grill pan.
8. Brush with butter and grill until fish flakes easily.
9. Flake fish with a fork.
10.Cook butter, spring onion and cream together for a minute.
11.Add potatoes, parsley, nutmeg, fish and seasoning. Chill well.
12.Mould mixtures into small patties. Coat with flour.
13.Shallow fry in hot oil for about 3 minutes on each side.
14.Drain and serve immediately.
